NNAS Tutor Award
£80
The National Navigation Award Scheme Tutor Award is a 1 day course for those who would like to teach navigation. It is a recognition that just because one can personally navigate it doesn't follow that one can teach it!
All current and future NNAS award providers and their staff are required to attend this CPD-accredited course in order to offer NNAS Navigator awards.
The courses are run in Chipperfield, on the edge of the Chilterns, easily accessible from the M1 and M25.

The NNAS Tutor Award is suitable for people 16yrs+ only. Even if you are not interested in becoming a NNAS provider, the course is valuable in terms of providing a toolbox of fun games and structure that will help anyone with an interest in teaching navigation develop their programme.
Successful completion of the NNAS Tutor Award will also enable (after approval by NNAS) those without a higher hill or mountain walking qualification, but with experience and interest in the outdoors, to help teach on a Bronze award under the guidance of a registered NNAS Course Director.
The course is a mixture of indoor and outdoor practical sessions and offers the opportunity for candidates to discuss their own methodology as well as learning new techniques from others. We'll spend some time indoors before heading out to walk around a typical Bronze route, looking at what makes a good route in terms of terrain and learning aspects.
There is a maximum of 10 places on the course and a minimum of 2. This is to ensure that everyone gets the most benefit from the course. Peer-experience and sharing is an important aspect.
